Our 24 point service and R134a re-gas costs $179 and includes inspections in the engine bay, vehicle interior and full A/C system check.

To do this we use our specialty A/C refrigerant recovery stations to weigh the refrigerant gas from your system and check that your loss of refrigerant is less than the acceptable 10-20 grams per year.

We then vacuum your system to boil off any moisture that might have naturally penetrated into the system. Moisture is a system killer as it leads to corrosion so this step is very important!

Finally, we can recharge your system with oil and refrigerant to the manufacturers specified level.

Note: It is poor practice and against the law to re-gas any automotive A/C system with a known leak; therefore, our policy is to thoroughly inspect and leak test every vehicle before adding refrigerant gas R134a to the system.

Automotive A/C Compressor Replacement.

An automotive compressor can fail for a number of reasons but when it does there are no shortcuts to fixing your system.

When the compressor fails it can spread fine metal contaminants through the system and cause blockages. For this reason, it is common practice and a warranty requirement from the compressor manufacturers to replace the thermal expansion valve (TX valve) and receiver drier and clean out any contaminants from the system by rigerous flushing whenever a new compressor is fitted. We follow these industry procedures and warranty requirements as a minimum standard so that you can be confident your system is repaired to the highest standards.

Your car's air conditioning compressor is often referred to as the heart of your air-conditioner, it keeps the whole system running and compresses refrigerant gas before circulating it along to the condenser for cooling.

Car A/C Evaporator Replacement

As Air-conditioning systems are made smaller and more efficient, so are their components. One of the components that has undergone a major size reduction over the years is the evaporator, located under the dashboard. This component is much like a radiator in design and is responsible for removing the heat and moisture from the cabin.

Evaporators can leak due to internal and external corrosion, and in this event they must be replaced. This type of repair can take anywhere from an hour or two, right up to ten hours, depending on the type of car and whether or not the dash needs to be removed to access the evaporator.

We are well equipped and experienced at replacing evaporators, which is a common cause of Air-conditioning problems.

The role of the evaporator in your Air-conditioning system is to (as the name would suggest) evaporate refrigerant liquid to a gas, and in doing so actually removes heat from the air which is what gives us that crisp cool air inside the cabin. A little known fact is that you cannot create cold but by removing heat the air becomes less hot.

Car A/C Condenser Replacement

The Air-conditioner condenser, located in front of the radiator is responsible for removing the heat from your Air-conditioning system. This is mainly the heat that was transferred form your cabin air via the evaporator.

The condenser is made up of opposing end tanks with parallel aluminum tubes that sandwich aluminum fins. While this unit is very effective at removing heat when clean, it can easily become blocked with road grime and dirt, reducing its operating efficiency and causing larger problems in the system. During Air-conditioner servicing we will clean your condenser and also inspect it for leaks. In the event that your condenser is leaking, it will need to be replaced.

Your condenser sits at the very front of your engine bay (in front of the radiator) and is responsible for converting refrigerant from a gaseous to a liquid state.

Automotive A/C Custom Hose Manufacturing

Automotive air conditioning systems use rubber hoses to connect the different components in the system so that vibrations and engine movement can be absorbed.

These hoses are constructed using a crimp fitting to connect the rubber hose to the metal component fittings. Due to the necessary design of the hoses, they often leak at the crimp joints or have holes rubbed through them from contact with another component.

Automotive A/C Odour Treatment.

If you have an unpleasant odour coming through your A/C vents, our Bactigas Treatment is the perfect solution to regain that new car smell without the need to get your hands dirty.

The evaporator, located inside your vehicle cabin and behind the dash is responsible for removing the heat and moisture in your cabin, thus providing the cooling effect. When you stop your vehicle the evaporator is still filled with moisture and the dust from the air, and when left to sit it can develop a bacteria that causes bad smells and odours. This condition is made worse if your car has collected leaves etc in the air vents.

Our odour treatments vary depending on the level of smell, but in most cases can be easily cured with a hospital grade bacterial treatment being atomised through the evaporator, a process that is simple and cost effective.

Automotive A/C Evaporator Drain Clearing

The drain tube is located below the evaporator and is tasked with removing the large amounts of moisture/water removed from the air in your cabin.

The drain tubes can block up with dirt or leaf debris that has worked its way into your evaporator box, thus stopping the water from escaping out the drain tubes and no doubt ending up on the floor of your car! This can be a simple fix if your evaporator is relatively clean, or it can be a big problem if your evaporator box is filled with debris!

Automotive Air-conditioner Retrofitting

If you have a vehicle that was manufactured before 1997 and have never had the Air-conditioner looked at, there is a good chance the system is set up to run on refrigerant gas R12, which is no longer available due to its ozone depleting potential.
